Balz Eggenberger, lic.oec.HSG (Risk Management & insurance), is the founder of fleetcompetence and has over 20 years of experience in the automotive sector, vehicle fleet and consulting. He is lecturer in the certificate course “Fleet and Mobility Management” which he developed together with the University of Applied Sciences St. Gallen and for whom he is the course leader in the starting phase has taken over. He is also the initiator of the “International Fleet Meeting Geneva”, the first international networking platform for fleet and mobility management that in the context of the Geneva International Motor show.
Thilo von Ulmenstein

The lawyer Thilo v. Ulmenstein is Managing Partner of fleetcompetence europe since 2012. He has worked for over 15 years in the field of fleet and mobility management. Before moving to Switzerland, he has been CEO of a major fleet management service provider in Germany. At the same time, he was involved in building an international alliance of European fleet management companies, which he led as president. Prior to joining in this industry Thilo v. Ulmenstein worked for the European Commission as a national expert in the field of energy and transport. Thilo von Ulmenstein is lecturer at the university-certified training ‘fleet and mobility management ” in co-operation with the University of Applied Sciences St Gallen.

Tobias Kern, Dipl. Betriebswirt (International Business Administration), has been working in the automotive industry for over a decade. He has held various international positions with an automobile manufacturer, fleet management companies and consulting firms. In recent years he has carried out many European and global fleet projects for well-known companies. Tobias Kern is also a lecturer in the university certificate course “Fleet and Mobility Management” at the FHS St. Gallen.

Philippe Stolbowsky, a purchasing expert, began his career at one of the largest global IT companies, where he worked for over 15 years in various functions, most recently as Global Fleet Procurement Director. Here he was responsible for the purchasing and management of the global fleet of 30,000 vehicles, whose costs he was able to significantly reduce through his initiatives. In 2010, Philippe Stolbowsky moved to an international fleet management service provider, where he assumed the position of Chief Procurement Officer. During this time, he built up the purchasing organization spanning 15 countries. He has been a partner in the fleetcompetence Group since 2019.
Americas / Asia / Central, Eastern and Northern Europe
Matthias Engel, business economist and finance and leasing specialist (VWA), has been working in the automotive industry for more than 25 years. He has held various international positions with automobile manufacturers, captive and non-captive leasing companies, as well as fleet management companies. During this time Matthias Engel was primarily responsible for sales targets, supplemented by the implementation of strategy projects. For fleetcompetence Group he has been in charge of international sales since 2018.
Western and Southern Europe
Nicolas Crescent has been active in the rent-a-car and fleet leasing industries for almost 25 years, having an extensive international experience in Sales & Marketing in B2B service-based solutions, international fleet management, mobility management and car leasing. He joined a US Rent-a-car organisation in 1992 where he held various commercial positions within the rent-a-car division such as Regional Sales Manager and Corporate Accounts Director. Since 2003, Nicolas Crescent was acting as International Key Account Manager, International Sales Manager, Head of International Sales Existing Accounts, increasingly took on international roles up to the position of Senior Business Development Manager at one of the largest international leasing companies. In 2019 he joined fleetcompetence Group.
Er kam 1992 zu einer US-amerikanischen Rent-a-car-Organisation, wo er verschiedene kaufmännische Positionen innerhalb der Rent-a-car-Abteilung innehatte, wie z.B. Regional Sales Manager und Corporate Accounts Director. Seit 2003 fungierte Nicolas Crescent als International Key Account Manager, International Sales Manager, Leiter International Sales Existing Accounts, übernahm zunehmend internationale Aufgaben bis hin zur Position des Senior Business Development Manager bei einer der größten internationalen Leasinggesellschaften. Im Jahr 2019 trat er der Fleetcompetence Group bei.
